THURSDAY 28 SEPTEMBER - MACMILLAN COFFEE DAY
We will be holding a fund raising coffee day in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support. All parents, grandparents and friends are welcome to join us for coffee/tea and treats between 9.00 am and 1.00 pm. Please try to join us and show your support for this very worthwhile charity. If you are unable to attend donations are very welcome - please place in the parent postbox or give to any member of staff.
TUESDAY 3 OCTOBER - PARENT INFORMATION EVENING 7.15-8.30 pm
All parents of children currently attending the Nursery School are invited to this information evening, which aims to give you a brief overview of the learning experiences your child will have at Pond Park Nursery School, with emphasis on our commitment to outdoor learning and the Reggio approach to Early Years education.
TUESDAY 10 OCTOBER - PART TIME CLASSES VISIT CASTLE GARDENS IN LISBURN
We will be taking the children in our part time classes to Castle Gardens in Lisburn for an Autumn 'toddle' around the grounds. We will collect leaves, acorns etc and observe the seasonal changes. Children will travel by bus during the normal class session.

The morning and afternoon classes will travel to Minnowburn during school time to experience learning in a forest environment.

TUESDAY 14 NOVEMBER - SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT DAY 2 - no school for children
THURSDAY 16 NOVEMBER - PHOTOGRAPHER IN SCHOOL
A photographer from Opus Digital will be in school to take individual photographs of the children plus family groups (by appointment) to include younger siblings only. More details will follow nearer the time.

Children plus parents from each class will travel to Rowallane Garden in Saintfield to search for a Christmas tree for the Nursery School. More details to follow nearer the time - this is a very special trip and a highlight of the school year.
TUESDAY 5 DECEMBER - RECYCLING VAN VISITS SCHOOL
Lisburn City Council's recycling education van will be at school all day and each class will get to take part in recycling workshops.
TUESDAY 12 DECEMBER - OPEN AFTERNOON FOR 2018/19 INTAKE: 3.00 - 6.00 pm
Parents of children due to start nursery school in September 2018 are warmly invited to visit the nursery school, see the facilities and meet the staff. Application forms for admission in September 2018 will be available on the day.
MONDAY 18 DECEMBER - CHRISTMAS CELEBRATIONS IN NURSERY SCHOOL
Parents and grandparents are invited to join each class for a short Christmas celebration - the children will entertain us with a selection of songs and rhymes. Children come to school at the normal time and parents are invited to join us at the following times:
Morning Class: - 10.15 - 10.45 am
Full Time Class:- 11.15 - 11.45 am
Afternoon Class:- 1.15 - 1.45 pm

The afternoon class finish for the Christmas holidays today at the earlier time of 2.00 pm

Full Time and morning classes finish for the Christmas holidays today - morning class at the earlier time of 10.50 am and full time class at 11.00 am
THURSDAY 21 DECEMBER 2017 - WEDNESDAY 3 JANUARY 2018 INCLUSIVE - SCHOOL CLOSED FOR CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS + SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT DAY 3
School will re-open for children on Thursday 4 January 2018 at the usual times.
TUESDAY 9 JANUARY - DEBBIE DOOLITTLE'S WILDLIFE VISIT
Debbie Doolittle will be visiting us and bringing some of the wild animals she has rescued and now looks after. We hope to see a fox, ferret, owl, hedgehog and more.
TUESDAY 23 & WEDNESDAY 24 JANUARY - FELT MAKING WORKSHOPS AT LISBURN LINEN CENTRE
All classes will visit Lisburn Linen Centre to learn how to make felt - the part time classes will go on Tuesday and the Full Time class on Wednesday.
MONDAY 29 JANUARY - MR HULLABALOO VISITS SCHOOL
Mr Hullabaloo Children's Theatre company will be in school with their interactive theatre performance for all classes.
MONDAY 12 - FRIDAY 16 FEBRUARY INCLUSIVE - HALF TERM HOLIDAY. School closed all week.
THURSDAY 22 FEBRUARY - BELFAST ZOO SMALL ANIMAL ROADSHOW VISITING SCHOOL
Staff from Belfast Zoo will be in school with a selection of small animals for us to see and learn more about.

WEDNESDAY 7 & THURSDAY 8 MARCH - VISITS TO MINNOWBURN FOREST SCHOOL
All classes will again visit the forest school Minnowburn during normal school hours.

TUESDAY 13 MARCH - MR HULLABALOO IS BACK!
All classes will again be entertained by Mr Hullabaloo and his theatre company.
TUESDAY 20 & WEDNESDAY 21 MARCH - EASTER EGG HUNT AT CASTLE GARDENS, LISBURN
All classes will visit Castle Gardens to take part in an Easter egg hunt. The part time classes will go on Tuesday and the Full Time class on Wednesday.

Farmer Claire will be bringing some of her farm animals to visit us for the day - we hope to see lambs, chicks, goats and more
MONDAY 16 - FRIDAY 20 APRIL - HEALTHY LIFESTYLE WEEK
We have a variety of events planned for this week, including a visit from the Dental Hygienist, a puppet show with Action Cancer and a fun exercise session with Jump, Jiggle & Jive.
WEDNESDAY 2 & THURSDAY 3 MAY - VISITS TO MINNOWBURN FOREST SCHOOL
All classes travel to Minnowburn for our final visits of the year.
MONDAY 7 MAY & TUESDAY 8 MAY - SCHOOL CLOSED FOR MAY DAY BANK HOLIDAY + SCHOOL DEVELOPMENT DAY 5
FRIDAY 11 MAY - COMMUNITY AMBULANCE VISITS SCHOOL
All classes will get to see inside the ambulance and help the Paramedics look after a sick teddy whilst learning more about the role of the ambulance service.
WEDNESDAY 23 & THURSDAY 24 MAY - 'SONGS IN THE GARDEN' + ART EXHIBITION
Each class will have an exhibition of the children's artwork, which you will get to take home, followed by songs in the garden and refreshments. All parents and friends will be invited to join us - the morning class will be on Wednesday from10.15 - 11.00, Afternoon class on Wednesday from 1.15 - 2 pm and the Full Time class on Thursday from 11.30 - 12.15 pm. All classes will finish earlier than usual.
MONDAY 28 MAY - SCHOOL CLOSED FOR BANK HOLIDAY
WEDNESDAY 30 MAY + THURSDAY 31 MAY - CLASS VISITS TO LISBURN FIRE STATION
Each class will visit Lisburn Fire Station for a tour of the station and to learn more about the role of the fire fighter. The Full Time class will go on Wednesday and the part time classes on Thursday.
MONDAY 5 JUNE - MR HULLABALOO RETURNS
Mr Hullabaloo will be back to entertain us with a new theatre performance.
FRIDAY 15 JUNE - ALL CLASSES CANCELLED (OPEN DAY FOR 2018-19 INTAKE)
There will be no classes today to enable children starting nursery school in September 2018 to visit the school.
THURSDAY 28 JUNE - FINAL DAY OF NURSERY SCHOOL FOR AFTERNOON CLASS
We say goodbye to our Afternoon Class today with a party and another visit from Jump, Jiggle and Jive.
